We built this because the system wasn’t fair.
Rooms sit empty while people who need them can’t afford the platform fees to get in touch. One side pays £20 a month just to send a message; the other waits for enquiries that never come. We thought that was wrong — so we built something different.

A fairer idea, built in the open.
Yogi spent years watching the same pattern repeat: a spare room going unfilled in one part of a city, and someone a few streets away who couldn’t afford the fees to find it. The platforms in the middle were charging the people with the least to spare.
RoomForRent started as a simple question — what if messaging were free, and the platform only earned its keep when a landlord chose to pay for better visibility and useful tools? No tax on saying hello. No paywall between two people who want to connect.
“Every decision we make comes back to one question: is it fair, is it useful, and is it purpose-driven?”
Is it fair, useful, and purpose-driven? If the answer is yes, it belongs on RoomForRent.
Three things, always.
Fairness first
No fees to message. No gatekeeping. If it's not fair, we don't build it.
Built for people
Every feature exists to make renting or listing easier for real people — not to generate platform revenue.
Profit with purpose
We're not a charity. We're a business that believes fair practices and commercial success aren't opposites.
